I honestly have no Idea. I haven't smoked Salvia in a long time: I don't even pick up the hundreds of fallen leaves anymore. I could have Kilos of leaf by now - I don't care ...

I'm just stupefied at how much he's growing: here is a recent picture of us from last week.

I MUST trim him Back some!

Happy Gardening!

Hi all!

It's been a few months.

They didn't stop growing.

Sally and Sammy are over 8 feet tall now: they are exactly 8 months and 3 days old now!

Here:
Bild: http://seamac.info/cupboard/garage/garden/200710/20071002sam.gif
(View from the side looking North)
Sammy is way out of my reach! He was born on Jan. 31st 2007 and 8 months later (Feb. - Sept.) needs repotting.

I'm planning on getting all those 10" branches he's covered with off of him today - as cuttings.

Then, when he's had a haircut, I'll try to move him from a 12" pot to a 16" pot. I'm going to wrestle a shrub taller than me and hope I don't hurt him.

I'm dwarfed by large healthy Salvia shrubs! (View from the front looking West)
Bild: http://seamac.info/cupboard/garage/garden/200710/20071002eastgarden.gif
Calvin grew into the tarp over him and got broken. There is a branch leaning against the wall up there and he's going for the gap between the tarp and the wall! He plans to colonize the roof area "Above the Jungle Canopy" with dozens of branches!

Sneaky GIANT Plant!

Namaste, friends!

Hey Sea Mac,
Do you mind if I email you at your gmail email address, for tips on how you care for your plants (soil changes/fertilizers/sunlight/etc, standard growing questions)?
Also, any information on the rare seedings would be fantastic to know about. I know if I ever got seeds from my divinorum plant I really wouldn't know what to do with them. tongue.gif. (actually, never mind on the seeding information, I just thoroughly read and understood your seeding webpage!)

Thanks a lot Sea Mac, your help is very much so appreciated.
I agree with hogie, you look very short in those pictures tongue.gif because your plants are so enormously!

Seamac, your plants are real trees^^

I've read your linked site about the Seeds...but i still have one question...do they need heat or are 21°C/70°F enough?

your plants are cheating, like you - they are in their pots, not on the ground wink.gif

If there were no pictures, I wouldn't be able to believe that plants of this height existed anywhere in the world, no matter what climate they lived in. I suppose the Mazatec people of Oaxaca themselves would be impressed if they saw what SeaMac has achieved here.
I'm sure you love your plants, Sea Mac, but they seem to be loving you a lot as well, since they keep growing so rapidly. I was just wondering why you kept all of them in their flower-pots, since I suppose in your climate it wouldn't be a problem to put them in the ground and leave them there during the winter without taking a risk to lose any of them due to frost?

If we didn't have such cold winters here in Germany, I would attempt to raise a whole forest of salvia trees here - and in the summer I would be sitting in their shade with my friends, smoking the leaves or chewing them, like the Mazatec do! laugh.gif

Because I rent: I don't own the land.

If I have to move these plants will move with me. (I hope. I'll rent a crane ...)

If I owned land they would be planted: then they would have grown even faster!

When I post plant measurements I always measure from the top of the dirt in the pot: never from the pot bottom. That would add 2 feet to Calvin and 1 foot to several plants.

Be that as it may be: the pipe sticking out of the wall is at 9 feet above the cement. Calvin is in a 24" tall/ 24" wide pot. His pot is on a metal trivet about 3 inches above ground. A couple of branches are a foot or 2 above that pipe. Below find 3 different views of the SAME Exact plants TONIGHT ...

YOU figure out How big he is.

70 degrees F/ 21 degrees C is Ideal for setting seeds. Jupe got some last January in cooler temperatures than that.
