I can imagine how many leafes you have to "waste", but with such big plants it is not surprising. How you should use them all? It´s a way too much...

These pictures are nice too and good job to let some of them look like they are "endless". smile.gif

Did you see these Hummingbirds in your garden or just on another place?
It seems you have many running projects with own web pages?

"How you should use them all?"

As Compost, I guess ... </ heresy>

"Endless" photos ...
People with the Type of "OCR" that compels them to count every car on a Train just LOVE my "Movie" of a freight train!

All of my "Animoshuns" are shot by me, from Tripod mounted Camera: of subjects right in front of me (Except the ones I AM In!).

Those hummingbirds and feeders are the one's from 2006 (at the old house) ... I have Animoshuns and stills from the most recent feeders and birds also.

Yes: I own 6 domains. I build web pages ALL the Time! Links to 4 of my web sites are in my Signature.

My web site I AM most proud of is Software Santa: mrgreen.gif http://softwaresanta.com/sssmf/ this one you might find most useful .... No Thing is for sale there. mrgreen.gif

I just became Addicted for Life to Cubosphere - a fun free puzzle with 450 levels! I finished the Tutorial episode and then I finished The "Egypt" and "Antarctica" episodes. (I have a combined score of 60.500 on both.)

Very nice plants and thank you very much for sharing your garden with us! smile.gif
Beautiful pictures you have made and nice idea to animate some of them.  biggrin.gif
One of my favourite animated picture is where you had been hiding behind your Salvia forest, but to be honest I like all of them. Nice work.
Are you using the leafes for phychodelic experiences? (I think so)

Greets from Germany  bye.gif

I saw the other pictures from the posted link and I just have to repeat what a nice garden you had lay out.
*

Thank You!

The Garden I had in 2008/2009 was larger and nicer ... yes. But this Garden is starting off OK after about a Year and a Half here.

I use the leaves ... but it always takes me to the same box and puts me in it. So I am bored of it: and dead leaves pile up under the trees. You would cry if you saw all the wasted sacred leaves.

I do like making the animated pictures.

I have a few Hummingbirds from 2006 Here. (I have made over 50 more Hummingbird pictures but have not added them yet.)

And there are animations of Large Machines Here.

How Fast Does It Grow?

Depending on Ambient Light Levels: 1/8" to 1/4" (3 mm to 6 mm) per day.

If supported: she can grow 2 to 3 meters high.

What sort of harvested yield to expect?

Depending on Ambient Light Levels!

If you let a small plant grow 1 year without harvesting:
Bild: http://sageseeds.info/cupboard/photos/garden/salvia/2013/06/superplant.jpg

It has a chance to grow larger leaves:
Bild: http://sageseeds.info/cupboard/photos/garden/salvia/2013/06/footlongpetiole.jpg

Some over a foot long:

(14 Inches active solar collection surface! Sun of a beech: that's some record holder there!)

2 or 3 bundles like this:
Bild: http://sageseeds.info/cupboard/photos/garden/salvia/2013/06/bigleatheryleavesquid.jpg

And leave half the leaves on the plant:

WOW theese are very nice seeds  happy.gif
*

I thank you ... but my precious plant "American" did almost all of the work! I just pollinated. I think there were a couple more seeds inside the dried up calyx - there might have been a total of 4 seeds! Mr. Siebert (the world renowned Salvia expert) in Santa Barbara will get them tomorrow.

Salvia divinorum DOES set seeds IF you can coax her to bloom. Most people's plants do not bloom because they are near a window/or street light/or security lights. If your plants are under your living room window they will stay up late and watch TV, or Party, with you and the gang. Plants that stay up late and party (or watch TV) NEVER want to bloom. mrgreen.gif

There are hundreds of flowers on those other 2 plants: and I need to TRY to pollinate as many as I can reach as often as I can. Seeds readily set: but not all make it to full size and color and maturity. I'm going to TRY for quite a few more seeds before Spring. This is the second time I have shipped Salvia seeds to Mr. Daniel Siebert ... the last time was 6 years ago. Here is a perfect chance to diversify the species with new strains - I need to do my very best now.

I know the signs the plant shows me and can tell from the outline of the base of the calyx IF nutlets are swelling up inside there! I know by looking from the outside, and don't need to see Up Inside, to know there are seeds forming. There's a certain "Look" to pregnant calicies .... biggrin.gif

From Now on, when I SEE that specific swelling: I'm going to carefully slide the opened end of a 5/8" square Ziploc baggie over the calyx (to protect it from that seed eating bird). It will make finding them much easier if the calyx falls off the plant.

See? I told you nice people I'd keep you informed. And this group is among the first in the world to be informed that Sea Mac did it again 6 years later!

(So my getting seeds 6 years ago wasn't a 1-shot fluke: I've got the secrets to getting seeds and published them at http://sageseeds.info for every one to follow.)

Success!
Tonight I crawled around on the ground under my plants with a strong flashlight and tweezers and picked up as many calicies as I could find.

I examined the calicies and found at least one with ripe seeds in it.

They DO seem nice this year, Thank You again.

I estimated about 5,000+ flowers will fall off these plants in the next 5 months. I might try to make PERFUME with them ....
(If I DID I would probably be the only person in the World to try making Salvia divinorum Perfume, huh?)

I guess that makes me Crazy. That, or the fact that I believe that The Second Coming of Jesus is coming up on Christmas Day 2013 rolleyes.gif - one or the other of those 2 makes me "Crazy" mrgreen.gif

The 'Aquarian' Strain plant has 5 or 6 seeds developing on 2 different racemes.

The 2 'Blossers' are just getting revved up and I began pollinating them today.

Yes I know, that it's holy shit, that we cant grow salvia outdoors all over the year. But indoor grow has also advantages. No snails, no Insects, hydroponic. So you can get dreamlike plants with dreamlike leafs. Indoor grow ist only nervous and expensive. cwy.png
*

Indoor with good lighting (and sticks supporting stems) you can get plants 1 to 2 meters tall - nothing wrong with THAT!

By setting the lights to 11 hours light and 13 hours dark your plants will bloom whatever the season!

There ARE advantages to indoor growing!

In Europe we can keep Salvia plants only outdoor in summer. If the plants never get artificial light at night, they will flower every year.

Nice plants. w00t.png

Here on the Southern California coast the winter temps are in the 50's at Night and 60's in the Daytime. Tropical Plants grow everywhere in my neighborhood: Datura/Bananas/Dagga/Plantains/Salvia ... Never gets down to freezing on the Coast! (It does inland though)

My plants grow quickly every day: and then sleep well at night. Don't think I would like to grow 8' tall plants indoors ....

Hey: I'm not dead yet. angel.png

A lot has happened since I last Wrote here.

A Short summary:
My garden was lost (all but 1 plant) when the cruel landlord (who was robbing me for years) gave me 60 days notice to move out.

I was blessed to find a new house at which I could start over. A year ago I started over.

A Friend left 2 'Blosser' strain plants in my care 'for safekeeping'. I named them "Dearie" and "Darling".

The 'Aquarian' strain plant grew back from a dead looking root ball in the Old pot. Only Survivor of Old Garden. sad.gif His name is "American". Other "baby" plants have Serial Codes and Birth Times on their pots but haven't taken names for themselves yet.

So, now we have a new location to grow in. And, Somehow, I have gotten these plants to behave crazily again. mrgreen.gif

First: you can easily get seeds from Salvia plants. The HARD Trick is getting them to flower.

I knew this. So I placed a 10 foot 'wall' (with a 'roof') of Black Tarpaulins around the garden area this fall. Then I put the 2 BIG 'Blosser' plants back in the dark to grow.

I have been very busy with my 6 domains and 5 forums.

In addition to being a very busy web master I have lots of adventures .... The Continuing Adventures of Carl

I still have about a dozen Salvia plants but my garden will never be as large as is was 2 years ago.

I attended Comic-Con International last week. (Pictures Soon)

I went to the County Fair and a Small Carnival in the last 6 weeks.

See a few of the Rides:

Storm

I'm SO Busy! I have strange things happen to me ....

I have a LOT of unexpected chances where Inspiration collides with Opportunity.

Like that Stupid Long Freight Train I got the other day:
Bild: http://seamac.info/cupboard/cinema/gif/animoshuns/train.gif

Well, I stuck the Camera and Tripod in the Bag and went down into "The Valley" by bus to buy a loaf of bread. I ALMOST didn't bring the tripod: I was only going to be gone 40 minutes and just get a loaf of bread.

When I got to the San Diego River (I have to get across that river to get to that bread) there was some sort of excitement going on. And Machines were whirling around overhead, swooping Low, and Hovering RIGHT over the River!

This was Happening: http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2010/ju...on-valley-fire/ the Second flare up!

Good Thing I had my Camera and Tripod!

Look at what I saw!

Bild: http://seamac.info/cupboard/cinema/gif/animoshuns/events/chopper/SDFDC2far.gif

Bild: http://seamac.info/cupboard/cinema/gif/animoshuns/events/chopper/SDFDC2close.gif

2 San Diego firefighting helicopters drinking the river and Carpet bombing the fire on the hillside with it!

Helicopter 2 filled up right next to Mission Center Road (where I was) while Helicopter 1 filled up further West (Where I couldn't film him). I got two good STABLE Shots of Helicopter #2 sucking up the river!

Very Exciting! And I added another "Ridable Machine" to my collection of Machines in Motion!

I'll TRY not to leave the house without my Camera and Tripod in the Future! Too many things happen to me when I'm just out and about - you could hardly believe it!

I was in Florida leading a very sheltered life. I heard nothing of it until it was all over.

Sorry: I wish I had lived there then, too. mrgreen.gif

Well, if you can make sense of my English: I have some nice Christmas Presents for you at Software Santa
http://softwaresanta.com !
(What Santa Claus's web site would be like!)

Now is your Chance to ask "Santa" for that Software you have been saving up for. There just might be a free alternative out there you don't know about.
(There are 2,300 FREE things listed already - of which only a hundred or so might be of use to you. It's my own private "Treasure Map" to the Internet.)
Anyone want to request Software?

MacHeist nanoBundle

We like to think of our job as helping introduce the great indie software out there to you guys, the Mac users. Over the past 3 years, between heist prize apps and discounted software bundles, we’ve distributed over 4 million software licenses to hundreds of thousands of Mac users around the world.

But as we stared at this year’s bundle, thinking of ways to reach as many Mac users as we could with this collection of amazing apps, we had a crazy idea. The kind of idea that at first seems preposterous. An idea that involved, just this once, removing the only remaining barrier of any significance: the bundle’s price.

Say hello to the MacHeist nanoBundle. It’s the same bundle of quality Mac software that you know and love… but it’s entirely free.

Download it. Enjoy it. And tell your friends about it, because it’ll be gone in under a week, never to return again. Grab it now!

Lugaru is free for the holidays!

By Jeff on December 24th, 2008

Happy Holidays from Wolfire!

Thanks to the thousands of people who have joined the Overgrowth Facebook Page, we are giving away Lugaru for free for the next few days. David Rosen (the creator) has been selling this game here for $19.95 since it was launched, without exception. For the first time ever, for the holidays only, we are not just discounting it, we are giving it away for free.

All you have to do is go here,    http://www.wolfire.com/free-lugaru    and we will send you a free copy.

Here are a few words about Lugaru. It is a Mac, Windows, and Linux compatible game created by David Rosen (our fearless leader) while he was in high school over the course of a couple of summers. It is a pretty kick ass independent, physics-based fighting game and over the years, many fans have created mods for the game including entirely new campaigns that are much longer and arguably better. Also, the graphics have been updated in the form of a high resolution texture mod. You can find all of this on the Wolfire Forums after you’re done playing the original.

Grab it here:    http://www.wolfire.com/free-lugaru    ! Keep in mind that this is a very limited time offer, as much as I’d like to spread David’s game forever.

As always, thanks for the support! We hope you enjoy your free copy of Lugaru!

"We are giving you a free copy of Lugaru (normally $19.95), the game that started it all! Just enter your name, email address, and what kind of computer you use, and we will generate a serial number for you and send it!"

And after you go snag this limited time freebie check out the hundreds of other free games and applications waiting (no time limit) for you at Software Santa http://softwaresanta.com

Merry Christmas!
